According to Google's homepage, today, August 5th 2015, is the 101st anniversary of the first electric traffic signal system.
It's also the 100th anniversary of the big oil companies joining forces in a conspiracy to deviously wreck the timing of this nation's traffic lights so that we have to stop at almost all of them, no matter the distance between or the speed limit. They're always, always timed wrong. So, you know, we're forced to waste gas at idle.
It's all wasted at idle, folks. One hundred percent of it. Money burned, air polluted--all for nothing. Ever think of that while you're sitting there?
Boy oh boy, am I glad I drive a Ford CMax plugin hybrid. Any hybrid or EV will do, though. Just so it doesn't run its engine and waste when that poorly timed red light slams down on you.
